Tidy Up is a full-featured duplicate finder and disk-tidiness utility.
Features:
Supports Lightroom: it is now possible to search and collect duplicates directly in the Lightroom library.
Multiple libraries support: capability to search in the supported apps (Lightroom, Photos, iTunes, Mail, Aperture, and iPhoto) by comparing multiple libraries of the same app with multiple libraries of different apps of the same kind (for example 2 Photos libraries and 3 Lightroom libraries).
Added the support to hard links: search for hard links or exclude them from the search and replace the found items with hard links.
Search for unique items gains strength: it’s now possible to use multiple criteria to search for unique items (items that have no duplicates).
Possibility to handle the found items at the administrator level: just allow the installation of the privileged tool and do the cleaning job. This is particularly useful to clean up old Time Machine backups.
New, completely redesigned interface, easy to use, and powerful.
Tidy Up organizes the result separating the found items by file kinds, (music, images, PDFs, folders, etc.). It's completely customizable and allows you to add more file kinds at your choice. The new organization is based on the tab separation and each tab has its settings, such as smart boxes, separation by searched sources, view by grid or list, etc.
Great design, miserable quality control. Currently crashing 100% of the time on large datasets. App fails to send crash reports to dev. Dev says his copy works fine on his files.
Exceptional support. The person helping does not assume you are an idiot an and asks pointed and helpful questions. Only used support once but is was one of my best support experiences of any company.
Solid. Had to use them to straighten out my order. An old version of DupeZap led me to version 5 of Tidy, when 6 is the most recent version. They swapped my serial number and got me going.
I really liked and wanted to continue to use TidyUp! 5, but I need to have it on both my laptop and on my iMac. And NOT have to buy it twice to do so. License is PER computer, not user.
Works fine on Big Sur. Just went through >15,000 photos in my Lightroom Library, and identified a whole lot of duplicates, as I expected.
A good app in my >6 years experience using it.
Why such bad reviews? I have used TidyUp! for many years, and remain satisfied.
No, it's not a 5-star app. But surely it deserves 4-stars ...
Admittedly I am what some term a "power" rather than casual Mac user.
