CalcService overview
CalcService allows you to enter calculations into any Service-aware app such as TextEdit, Mail, Messages, Safari, Xcode, or any of our apps, and calculate the result with a single keystroke. Append the result to the formula, replace the selected text with the result, or show the result in a panel. Never launch Calculator again if you just need a quick calculation.

I have to enter a large number of production records that are the cumulative weights of a fluid. We milk eight goats into the same bucket, weighing and in-between each.
I wish I could say CalcService saved me $29.95, but I went out and bought a fancy USB calculator that can send results as though it were a keyboard. So I could enter two weighings, subtract them, then press SEND to type the difference into a text field. Problem is, I had to enter other data using the Mac keyboard, and would often forget to go to the calculator to enter weights.
But CalcService lets me simply enter 5678-1234 in the field, hit CMD-A to select the equation, then hit CMD= to replace equation with its difference: 4444! Nice!
No problems or concerns. It does something simple, and does it flawlessly!

I can't live without this service anymore. It's nearly perfect. Fast, stable, reliable, works anywhere!
The only thing that bugged me the other day was that CalcService doesn't accept an equals sign at the end of the marked calculation when you hit command-"=", I guess it could be more tolerant there.
But hey, I can't complain! It's very precise, blazingly fast, and it's FREE!
