XRG overview

XRG (X Resource Graph) is an open-source system monitor for OS X. XRG allows you to monitor CPU activity, GPU activity, memory usage, battery status, machine temperature, network activity, disk I/O, current weather, and stock market data. The goal of XRG is to be a functional system monitor that has a clean and flexible interface, so it doesn't intrude on the rest of your Mac experience.

What’s new in version 3.0

Version 3.0:
  • Support for Macs with Apple silicon.
  • Added a new Sensors window that shows all temperature/fan sensors with their current, min, average, and max readings.
  • New Temperature Graph with a fresh UI showing just the three selected sensors.
  • Support sensors in M1 Macs and detect new temperature value formats (Thanks Thomas Engelmeier).
  • Use system locale to select default measurement units automatically (Thanks Thomas Engelmeier).
  • Use the Accelerate framework for common XRGDataSet math operations, improving performance across several graphs (Thanks Thomas Engelmeier).
  • Requires macOS 10.9 or later.

I am so glad that it has become 32 bit, if for nothing else than the network graphing. I have to say that I missed it dearly when I moved to OS 11 and 12.

I have a 2021 24" iMac and after downloading XRG, looking at temperature I don't see GPU listed? The only options are LCD/airprot/BLC proximity and fan speed 0/1. Trying to find out how to monitor my GPU temp if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

I have used this app for some time now and I have yet to find anything that beats it for my needs. If your needs are simple it may be overkill but if you like to know what is going with your system give it a try. I have had no problems at all with it. It is reliable and very informative.

This is the only App that accurately show me what my system is doing. Far better than the Intel app.

Hi, I am running XRG on my Late 2013 Mac Pro. I have dual AMD D700... I only see GPU 2 being tasked in the XRG monitor. Why is that? Should not both be working? GPU 1 is basically parked showing 2M, 0 ns and no activity...
