ExifRenamer overview
ExifRenamer is a tool for renaming digital photos, movie and audio clips of almost every camera vendor. The program turns the cryptic file names usually assigned by digital cameras into meaningful dates which allows chronologic sorting in the finder and a quick overview of your taken photos. ExifRenamer features a lot of useful automatic and interactive features to help digital photographers organizing their photos.
The tool can perfectly be used as auto-action for Apple's ImageCapture - it automatically renames the new downloaded pictures without a single mouse click.

Version 2.4.0:
- ExifRenamer is now a Universal macOS Binary and runs on the super cool Apple Silicon Macs and Intel Macs natively.
- ExifRenamer did not update the creation date (if this option was activated) for the case that the file name didn't change during renaming.
- Fixed a daylight savings time problem when handling RIFF/AVI file formats.
- Fixed broken PayPal link.

exif renamer works also on Catalina !!!
I've been using the program for several years and it works (almost) flawlessly. The only thing that occasionally gives problems is renaming .mov of .mp4 files . Changes the time by an hour, but that can mannually be resolved

ExifRenamer is an excellent utility for organising photos. Most people's are from multiple camera or mobile phone sources, and have completely different naming conventions. This product combines all these into a creation date format, obviously the choice for browsing or display. Again, love ExifRenamer!
