DESCRIPTION

Nexuiz has been in development for close to five years by a team of amateur developers led by Lee Vermeulen. It is a 3D deathmatch game made entirely over the internet. The purpose of the game is to bring deathmatch back to the basics, with perfect weapon balancing and fast paced action, keeping itself away from the current trend of realistic shooters. It uses HFX textures by Evil Lair, and currently has 17 maps in which to frag. With an advanced UI, the user can select between 15 different player models to use, with an average of two skins for each, and can connect to our master server to play people from all over the world.

The game’s content and source are GPL, meaning that it is entirely free and any of it can be used in other free projects, even if modified. This is a first for any large game project of its type. We hope this will support the free game community, and encourage more GPL projects.

WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.4.2:
  • New gamemode Onslaught now available in the menu
  • Added map for the onslaught gamemode (ons-reborn)

  • Fixed several problems with lagging gameplay/crashes/wrong display of effects
  • The teammessage binds are available in the menu (if you do not see them delete or rename your config.cfg)

  • Fixed the rotating textures/hud bug on Mac OSX with r_glsl 1

COMPUTERNAUT  This game is the medicine.

I'm speechless right now.

Just came out from a 3 hour non-stop ultra hardcore games. And I just want more.

At first, I thought there were some things in Nexuiz, that didn't behave exactly as you're used to. First and foremost, the player movements have a slight accelleration/descelleration added to it. Which makes it feel a little funny in the beginning. But after a while, you're perfectly ok with it (I mean, perfectly ok with it).

Now on to some details. The sound effects are great. But, the music - although not every track - is, at times, super rad! Ingeniously crafted into this game, the music literally pumps out your adrenaline. It's that great.

I must frankly say, that I really can't collect my optimistic thoughts about this game and express it in words. But to all fps fanatics out there:

This is the game.

No unnecessary story plots, realistic yada yada; just pure battle, right from the start.  (Version 2.2.3)

NUSENTINSAINO  This game is extremely similar to Quake III: Arena, and the good thing is that its free! While its not the best quality, its gameplay is very fun and addictive especially on boring days.

Download it if you're bored!!  (Version 2.2.3)
