PONY  I'm having problems getting Swift Publisher to recognize it is registered. I had been using it just fine until the update came along. I bought the update and after several failed update attempts (I ended up having to delete /Library/Application Support/BeLight Software/ at the developers request to get it to install) I finally got the update to install.

However, now when I run Swift Publisher it tells me the application is not licensed, but clicking the license button just 'BEEPS' and does nothing. All other components are licensed, but Swift Publisher refuses to recognize it is licensed, and further refuses to allow me to re-enter the license key. The developer suggested I re-install (which I did) but so far has been unable to resolve the problem.

Further emails to the developer have gone unanswered.

I own the box retail version, and just paid for the latest upgrade to it which broke the application. I'm now out of pocket the cost of the upgrade and unable to print any of my previous Publisher files!!!!

If you are considering buying the upgrade then ensure you have a full backup to revert to should you experience the same problem. I'm not sure what to do next as the developer appears to have given up helping me get this to work :(

BELIGHT TEAM  Dear David,

Our tech-support didn't stop responding to your e-mails, the manager actually asked you for some Preferences files to investigate the problem. But you didn't send them to us, which makes it hard to assist you, as we can not understand what really causes the problem.

Can you please e-mail us all files that starts with "com.belightsoft." from your ~(HOME)/Library/Preferences/ folder?

REEL_MAC  "Mail Factory and Printfolio customers could always crossgrade to Labels & Addresses for just $24.95 (not $50 as you say)"

That's not the price I saw. Sorry if I'm mistaken. This doesn't negate the fact that the whole process is confusing and frustrating for the user. I made the mistake of updating Printfolio and suddenly I was unable to print labels anymore. The program kept asking for the new Labels & Addresses program, completely ignoring Mail Factory. It took me hours to fix that one. The only "solution" was to downgrade everything to my original versions, which I thankfully had backed up.

What a pain.

BELIGHT TEAM  I am sorry about your negative experience with the update. Printfolio is the bundle of 5 programs and I understand that the updating process sometimes may cause the confusion, especially when paid updates are released. We do our best to avoid such situations, that is why we offered free upgrade for all customers who purchased the package after September 1st, 2008 (Mail Factory was replaced with Labels & Addresses on December 9th, 2008). If you purchased Printfolio close to the specified date, please send us an email with the order number or scanned copy of the receipt (if the software was purchased at the retail store) and we will update your package for free.

Kind regards,

BeLight Team

*....

REEL_MAC  I purchased this package a couple months before they updated the Mail Factory application to Labels & Addresses.

Then I installed updates and all of a sudden I can't access any lables anymore. Why? Because I have to pay another $50 to Belight in order to unlock Labels & Addresses. Now I'm trying to go back to the original setup, but the Printfolio software keeps asking for Labels & Addresses, as if Mail Factory never existed.

I emailed their support and they tell me there's no upgrade deal for current users.

Cheapskates.

That's the last time I give Belight any of my money.

BELIGHT TEAM  Dear REEL_MAC

Mail Factory and Printfolio customers could always crossgrade to Labels & Addresses for just $24.95 (not $50 as you say). Users that purchased Mail Factory version 2 and Printfolio on or after September 1, 2008, qualify for a FREE license code for Labels & Addresses. This information was always posted on our website:

http://www.belightsoft.com/labelsaddresses/update/update.php

Printfolio customers who chose not to crossgrade Mail Factory to Labels & Addresses can continue using Printfolio 1.4 which has Mail Factory included.

You may download this version here:

Best regards,

BeLight Team

*****

RRBROWNE  Great applications. Easy to use, but very versatile. Excellent object editing features.

Good documentation.

Bought it because it supports the DVD tray in my Canon MP970.

The support is fantastic! I had a problem installing from the CD (my fault) and I got an instant reply to my email.

AMPLIFYFITNESS  I've been using this sweet of apps for more than a year now. I used Business Card Composer to create my cards without any issues for my local print shop. Swift Publisher is my go-to app of choice when creating my ads and promotional materials. The bundle is worth it for just those two apps, but Art Text and Labels & Addresses are terrific as add-ons to help create other printed materials. My web logo, too, was created in Art Text and Swift Publisher.

Bottom line: very versatile, easy to use, and a great price.
