THUS.SPAKE.Z While Inquisitor appears to have been installed in my Safari 4, its icon does appear in Safari's toolbar and Inquisitor's configuration panel is launched when clicking on the icon, its search function doesn't seem to work. I've also got Glims installed but don't know if there's a conflict between it and Inquisitor. unfortunately, emailed queries to the developer go unanswered. Support seems unavailable. For that reason, the developer will not be getting any financial support from me if any kind of financial support is requested. (Version 3.2v61)

YICHEN Z the developer doesn't need any financial need from you and you should stop treating free software developer as your free technical support. (Version 3.2v61)
| May 8 2009 |
THUS.SPAKE.Z Listen, lichen Z, are you really stupid or just pretending to be?. if the developer doesn't want to provide technical support or even answer emailed queries about his software, whether free or not, why doesn't he just keep his software to himself. A software developer who doesn't want to provide support is IRRESPONSIBLE and not worthy of respect. So, to Hell with him, then. OK? If you cannot understand that, then perhaps you need a brain transplant. (Version 3.2v61)

YICHEN Z You are surely one of those people get used to downloading free pirated software online and complaining like a sob without paying a dime. (Version 3.2v61)

THUS.SPAKE.Z Pirated software, huh? Now you're prattling like an imbecile. You obviously have a fart in your brain. I commiserate. (Version 3.2v61)

PABLITO I am a fan too. I think he/they are doing some development to the iphone version, so then will be back to the Safari 4. I hope to see the update soon. I am missing it too. And want to disable the Safari "inquisitor" soon! (Version 3.2v58)

PABLITO Did??! where is it (the new version)? Did you see it? http://tiny.cc/1yOeF I am lost. Do you agree and believe Inquisitor? I don't know anymore .. actually I am feeling afraid. Of course, now it's from Yahoo .. a really company, but, we never know. Somebody contact the Yahoo yet, to know the relationship between then and the software? There is an agreement to install it? I really appreciate. (Version 3.2v58)

LIBCRYPT The latest version of Safari (4.0.3 here) pops up its own search suggestions on top of Inquisitor's. Anyone know how to turn off Safari's suggestions? (Version 3.2v61)

MATTETH Well. It seems like the Yahoo at last have put it's mark on one of my favourite applications. I can no longer get instant search results when another search engine (than Yahoo) is selected. It's Yahoo or nothing. A bummer. I understand the commercial motives, but it makes Inquisitor less useful. (Version 3.2v58)

BTGXCELL I have to agree with the comment below. The new look is far too spaced out. It goes down over half of my screen (Macbook) when using 6 search results and 3 suggestions. Plus the new gradients over the results and suggestions sections aren't as visually pleasing as before. Also, the blue mouseover is now just a bar across the entire result of suggestion that you're highlighted over; the older version (3.1(v55)) had better looking bubbles around the result or suggestion you were highlighted over. Plus the new Yahoo BOSS search engine does not seem to result in any performance gain in your searches and it automatically sends usage statistics to Yahoo, and you cannot uncheck the option in preferences. Overall, I do not like the direction the developer is taking Inquisitor to, but that decision may not be up to him since he sold the application to Yahoo. I have since downgraded back to 3.1(v55) and am very pleased with it as-is. (Version 3.2v56)

CLARUSAD i've done a... downgrade ! turned back to previous version (3.2v55) which where nicer and has same functions. That new one doesn't bring something new. But it still a great add-on for Safari ! (Version 3.2v56)

GAOSHAN Using this application results in its developer earning ad revenue from sponsored search results. Normally I'm all for something like this (though I'd like it made clear to me that that is what is going on... in this case it is a quit, behind the scenes thing) but THIS particular developer, David Watanabe, is a jerk and should not be supported. CALL ME YO DADDY I'm not sure if you just read what was new with this version but affiliate links have now been REMOVED. Inquisitor is now owned by Yahoo! So if you don't like David (I can't understand why) don't worry this is a Yahoo! project now. (Version 3.1v55)

MUDFLAPPER Really. One star, across the board? Has Inquisitor ever been unstable? Is it hard to use? It's free, how can you give one star for free??? I can see you wanting to warn people about an application you think is a waste of money, but this application doesn't cost a dime, for chrissakes. Don't like the whole affiliate thing? I find that naive, at best. You better stop using Google and every other search engine on the web, because they do the same thing. I've been using this developer's products for YEARS and I've never had a problem with them. My whopping TWO support requests were answered promptly, problems solved quickly. I just don't get why some folks have such a problem with DW. He makes the most gorgeous apps I've ever seen. (Version 3.1v55)
