Synchronize! X Plus overview

Synchronize! X Plus is a personal file synchronization and backup utility. It has been re-engineered for OS X, taking advantage of the modern properties of the operating system, such as preemptive multitasking, and supporting the full capabilities of the file system, including 255-character Unicode file names and OS X file permissions. Files are copied at the maximum speed possible, using preemptive multitasking to full advantage.

Generally works, sometimes flaky. PROBLEMS: wants to "call home" every time it's opened (more on this below), way too expensive compared to alternatives, and then you have to re-purchase every two years to use -- even if the only update has been from 4.0 to 4.1! Recommend arRync (free!) or Folder Sync ($9) instead. Both do the job just as well. Or for a bit more, get Carbon Copy Cloner and be able to backup the entire disk.

This ain't shareware folks. It's a worthless duplicate of FREE software. $30?????? Are you kidding me? Is this an IQ test? Try not to get an F on this one folks. Search on "synchronize" here at MU and find yourself a little app called "Folder Backup." Everyone thinks they deserve a million bucks without the proportionate amount of effort. You couldn't graduate high school having coded this app. $5 MAYBE.

I don't know where the person below is getting his ideas from, the licence specifically states: "This software reports its serial number and the name of the computer over the Internet for the purpose of ensuring license compliance. No other information is transferred and this information will not be used to contact you." I am a registered user and have had a fantastic level of support for all my queries. I think it is a really good program that has a feature set that makes it good value for money.
