Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary overview

Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary can help improve your English-language skills. Understand what words mean. Learn how to say them. Know how to use them.

The Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary (OALD) is a world best-seller. It is now available as an app, with the full A-Z dictionary, real voice (not text to speech) audio, and My View to customize your screen. It has been developed by the same editors from Oxford University Press who created the printed dictionary, working together with Paragon Software, a leading software developer for mobile devices.

Note: This free download will give you sample entries from the dictionary. An in-app purchase is required to activate the full dictionary.

Writing a comment on Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary is gilding the lily! Still, I can always write about my personal experiences that have been always more than positive. OALD has been my favorite dictionary for many years on end and now its electronic version has pushed up even higher its level of excellency and has made it a more indispensable tool for English and foreign students alike. Nearly all phrases are read by a clear human voice (not text to speech) and the well-thought combination of different colors for various parts of speech and meanings has undoubtedly made consulting new words a joy and not a chore. If you are not online you can always download voices to consult them offline but prepare yourself to download a hefty 1 GB file if you want both American and English pronunciations. At this modest price you can’t find a better dictionary on the market with the same features. Fariborz AMIRSHAHI - Verona (Italy).

There are three versions in the list, apparently with some difference. But what IS the difference? Which file to download when?
