WorkApps (was Coffee or Beer) gives you a simple way to quickly launch select applications at the beginning of your workday, and shut them down at the end.
WorkApps sits in your menu bar and with the click of a button customizable applications launch or shutdown. WorkApps handles applications, Url's, screensaver activate, computer sleep, and computer awake commands.
WorkApps also saves system resources on computer start by allowing you to specify when you want your applications loaded.
This app is a great idea but, in action, it's a little shaky. For example, it doesn't seem to be able to open or close Chrome at all. So, when I switch between 'Coffee' and 'Beer,' only some of the applications that are supposed to close actually do.
What applications are you having trouble opening and closing other than Chrome, and can you check to make sure that they are checked in the application preference. If they are not checked, they are ignored by that action.
I am happy to announce that tonight we submitted v1.0.2 ro the Mac App Store for approval which has abetter algorithm for shutting down applications. We expect it to be approved by Apple next week.
The website for this app is sparse on details. Can this launch apps after you >>wake< < your computer from sleep or only after a restart, shutdown, etc.?
