WordPerfect Document Viewer overview

WordPerfect Document Viewer (was WordPerfect Viewer) enables you to view WordPerfect documents on your Mac. WordPerfect Document Viewer converts WordPerfect documents into PDF, RTF, or TXT. Drag-and-drop files into WPD Document Viewer, or open them directly. Once you've exported your WordPerfect document, you can edit the results in your word processor of choice.

Note: WordPerfect Document Viewer is not an editor: it converts your WPD documents into a format that can be read on your Mac. It does not preserve complex page formatting, metadata, margins, headers, or footers. Please see the screenshots for representative examples of converted content. WordPerfect Document Viewer is not endorsed, supported, sanctioned, approved, or manufactured by Corel Corporation or Corel Corporation Limited.

Technical support is readily available from: contact@thelawbox.com

Why would one pay for this when the free LibreOffice can open WordPerfect documents?

Here's a real bummer. I bought v. 2.0 through the App Store (it worked as advertised). Then I returned to the store to download v. 2.1 and a message came up saying I hadn't purchased this app through the Store. Then I went to the developer's site to complain, and found that no e-mail contact is listed on the site. So now I'm pissed both at the Store and the developer. It's incidents like this that discredit the Store in the eyes of the buying public. If Apple can't get it right, they're going to suffer in terms of lost customers.

It might be useful, but I'm not going to spend $10 to find out if it works with the files I need to open. The developer ought to get a clue: without a trial version he'll get few sales. Certainly not from me.

Yeah…about $8 too much and ten years too late for me. Can't find any info if it supports password protected docs. Anyone know?
